Week of April 7 - April 13 As we arrived at the office on Monday morning there seemed to be a lot of activity and commotion going on.  It's usually very quiet when we arrive.  There were 2 sets of missionaries there and President showed up a few minutes later.  Then the AP's arrived.  What was going on?!  No one really knew (unless they weren't saying)  President was in interviews for most of the day with the Elders.  Individually and companionships.  Back and forth.  Then he told two Elders (that weren't companions) to go home together to a certain apartment.  He totally missed his meeting with the AP's.  Sister McKay held it with them.  Then it was staff meeting tine.  Sister McKay ran that meeting also.  The whole day seemed unsettling there at the office.  After staff meeting, we met with the Financial Department, which really is only a Senior Service Missionary and a Senior Sister Missionary .  Sister ...

  The week of March 31 - April 6 Transfer Week at Staff Meetings get a little crazy.  President decided on 9 White Washes.  No apartments being opened from before, just white washes.  So calls need to go out to the 9 white wash apartments and tell them they will be white washed and clean your apartment!!  Make it nice for new set of missionaries.  (We find some do and some don't care what it looks like when they leave) Calls to transfer missionaries to leave their companion key with the missionary staying in the apartment.  And we had 2 apartments that were going to need 3 beds for about 2 or 3 weeks.  Besides getting all the paper work for that to happen and the calls, we continued going through the files one by one to make sure they are all correct.   Tuesday morning we met the President and 10 missionaries at the airport and loaded their luggage into the trailer.  Then President asked us to stay and wait for one more missionary t...

 Week of March 24 - March 30 Transfer Prep Week!! Monday's are always a little crazy on Transfer week.  President is deciding if he will open, close, white wash or do just plain transfers.  It keeps us on our toes.  And actually he changes his mind right up until the next Wednesday morning when transfers actually happen. It can get a little nerve wracking at times.  To add to the stress of the week, we got audited.  The auditor goes through each of the departments and checks on everything they are doing.  So when it was our turn, thankfully Dan took over.  He chose 1 apartment from each Zone.  We would have to show him the actual file and then it had to match up with what was on the computer.  WELL, no one told us that, though it makes sense, we didn't even know how to do some of that stuff.  So, it was a learning curve for us and now we are going through each individual file and making sure everything matches and is up dated. ...

Week of March 17 - March 23 At staff meeting President mentioned that there were 40 unsafe houses in our mission still.  I know!  I keep trying to get he missionaries to do test their smoke detectors.  Do you think they could do it?  I'm not sure it will ever happen. Tuesday we drove out to the Mallard apartment.  We are closing it for good.  So that means lots of cleaning and moving of furniture.  We spent most of the day cleaning it out of junk and garbage.  We took the desks and chairs, and a few other things we needed to finish up the 999 apartment.  We drove over to 999 and set up the things we had brought from Mallard and did a little bit of cleaning.  I'm always exhausted after a day of cleaning apartments, so Wednesday I went into the office a littler later than usual.
