Rob and Michelle came to visit!

Image
Only 2 weeks of our mission left.  It's feeling a little sad and surreal. Plus our last Transfer Week.  We took the Smoot's with us so they could get a feel of all that we do at Transfers.  Friday they had a Going Away Party for us at Sister Cannon's place.  President Beecher gave a really sweet thought and prayer, that said thank you for all you've done and good bye.  So sweet I cried through the whole thing. Saturday, Rob and Shelly came to visit us!!  We were so excited to have them here.  They both arrived within 30 minutes of each other and so after getting them we went to lunch at the Spaghetti Factory and then we went over to the Arch and took a ride to the top.   Before heading home we stopped at Ted Drews for some Ice Cream!  Fun, fun day! Sunday was our last day at church.  Lots of good-byes and a few tears.  We love these people so much and will really miss them.  To our surprise Robert Taylor came to church to...

Time to start saying "Good bye"

Week July 28-August 3 Smoots will be here this coming Sunday and we are working hard to get the Smith's apartment ready for them to move into it.  We got rid of a lot of furniture, had the carpet, couch and chair cleaned.  I've gone through the whole kitchen and cleaned out cupboard and cabinets.  So much work.   Thursday night we met Madelyn for dinner.  We ate at the Old Spaghettis Factory down town, St Louis .  It was so  cute with lots of personality.  Madelyn has become such a great friend, we will miss her a lot.   Friday we spent the morning cleaning the Storage Unit so it would be ready for the Smoots.  It gets so messing and cluttered, we just had to get it straightened up some.   Saturday we moved the Sisters in Lake St Louis into a new apartment.  Then we had to delivered a charger to the sisters in Wentzville and a bed to Dardenne Creek.  Lots of work and running a round today. Sunday was...

Cardinals Game

Week of June 21-27 Thursday night we got to go to the Cardinals Game with the mission.  The missionaries had been asked to sing on the ball field " God Bless America " before the game stated.  So all the missionaries that lived with in a certain distance were invited to come and sing.  Once the game started they were up in the bleaches with members that had come also.  It was a " JustServe Night " at the game.  So there were lots of members and the missionaries were spread out among them.  The area President was there also.  He and the mission President got together and decided it would be fun for the missionaries to sing " Called to Serve " in the middle of one of the innings.  So they all stood and sang.  Lots of the members stood up and sang with them.  It was so fun.  It just so happen we were sitting next to President and his wife.  He is so fun and joking with the Elders.  It made for a real fun evening.. Nauvoo

Image
Week of July 14 - 20 We finally asked President Beecher if we could leave the mission and go to Nauvoo .  This was our week to go.  We left Friday morning and drove to Hannibal .  Hannibal is where Mark Twain is from.  His childhood house is still there and the fence that Tom Sawyer had his friends paint for him.  Lots of stories there.  We had a fun time looking around before continuing on to Nauvoo. We got to Nauvoo and went to the Visitors Center to find out all the things to see and do.  Way more than we had time for but we looked around at the sights there at the Visitor Center, then we went outside and saw the Garden of Statues.  It was as beautiful as I remembered it.  We checked in to the Nauvoo Hotel.  A cute little old house turned into a hotel.  We got an upgrade to a two bedroom suite.  Don't let me fool you, it was very tiny but full of character.  We had an appointment to do an Endowment at the Nauvo...
