Got our first letter !!!

 It's been a long week!

Monday we had plans to go driving around and explore some more, but it was raining and we didn't want to go out sightseeing in the rain.  So we decided to go to the movies.  It's been a while since we saw a movie and we thought "Reagan" looked good.  Sister Houston had recommended it to us.  We enjoyed it.

Tuesday we had an appointment with a less active member that we have been trying to catch.  We were excited to get to know him.  We arrived right on time for the appointment and rang the bell and the "Ring" doorbell said they were not available.  We left a message on the "Ring" and went on our way very disappointed.  About one hour later we got a call from him, asking us where we were.  We told him we rang the bell and no one answered.  He said that couldn't be because he had been sitting in the living room waiting for us.  Come to find out he moved 30 years ago to another city.  Still in our Stake but not our Ward.  We apologized and asked if we could  still come over but he said he had another appointment and was going out of town for a few weeks.  We still want to visit him when he gets back, but are giving his name to the missionaries in his ward.  Since we have been here we have found 30 households that are not in our Ward anymore and are trying to get their names of the roster. That night we taught Heaven a lesson on prayer and scripture study.  She is the cutest little girl.  Just need to get them to church.

Wednesday was District Meeting.  I love Wednesday mornings.  I love these missionaries we get to work and associate with.  They are all amazing.  They asked us to Lead a Discussion on Elder Bednar's talk on prayer.  We felt like it went pretty good.  That afternoon we joined the sisters again to teach Bernard.  He is soaking everything us and is really interested in the church.  But the sisters just told us that he is guy and married.  They don't know how to bring the whole subject up.  Tricky!!

Our car has been making a weird noise so Dan took it in and they told us it needs new ball barring's.  He got an estimate and it felt high so he took it to another shop.  On the phone they said they could do it for less.  He made an appointment for 8:00 in the morning to take it in and have them look at it.  At 2:00 we called and they still hadn't looked at it.  Frustrating!  They called back and said they could do it but it was the same price as the first people.  Well, they had the car so we said, "ok, just do it."  They gave us a loaner and said they would get to it first thing the next day.  At 2:00 the next day we called them again and they hadn't even started.  Dan was so mad.  He told them to forget it and went and picked the car up.  Dan called the first shop and they said they could do it Monday morning.  We'll see what happens.  Not fun with out a car.

Thursday afternoon we were able to teach Andrew again.  He had gone through the pamphlet on the Plan of Salvation and answered all the questions in the back.  He wrote them down so we could discuss them.  He is so humble, he is always saying, "Now, you tell me if I'm wrong.  I want to know the truth."

I haven't been feeling well all week, but you know how you just keep going.  Friday morning I woke up with an UTI.  We found a clinic we could go to and they took me right in.  Ran a test and gave me some meds.  It's taken me a few days to feel better and I have tried to rest when I could.  During the resting time I made a flyer to give out to some of the people we visit this coming week about General Conference.

Saturday we made lots of visits but only got to talk to 2 people.  Brother Cano was so welcoming and invited us right in.  He collects lots of things and has lots of hobbies.  It was fun to see all of them.  Made me think a little about my own dad.  One of the things he collects are marbles!  He must have thousands of marbles. Some large and some regular size.  They were so pretty and he has them displayed out in the living room.  Some of them are worth $500-$1000.  Amazing!

Got our first letter.  I was so excited I cried!!

Sunday after church the Ward had a Linger Longer.  It was fun to sit and visit with some of the Ward.

We are trying to get the MCM  (missionary coordination meeting) to go smoother and work better.  It was so bad this past Sunday the sisters started laughing and couldn't control themselves.  We are going to talk to the Bishop about calling a Mission Leader.  The Ward really needs one.  This has been an eye opening situation for me.  I never really understood how important the Mission Leader and those meetings are.  Now I'm on the other side of it and I see it.  I'm learning lots!

On to a new week.  Love you all!
