Sickies

 It's been a long week with not much happening.  I got sick Monday afternoon and went to bed.  Slept almost all day Tuesday.  Wednesday  I kept pretty quiet because I still wasn't feeling well.  

Thursday we went to District Meeting and Dan gave the Book of Mormon  Out the Door message.  I was done in so we went home and I slept till our 4:30 appointment with Barnard.  He is a guy man who was hit by a car 4 weeks ago.  His husband of 5 years just left him and he was not in a very happy mood.   But the Sisters are so wonderful and had been praying about how to talk to him about marriage is between a man and a women.  After talking to him and seeing how depressed he was I thought, "today is not the day to have this lesson."  But they went on and gave the most  beautiful lesson on how much God loved him just the way he was. They shared with him the importance about being Chaste and how Heavenly Father's plan is for men and women to have families together. The Spirit was so strong.  I couldn't believe how well they did.  I think when we left Sister Booth was going to cry, she had been so nervous about talking about this is him.  They asked him to pray about it and let them know what questions he had about it the next time they talked.  

Friday, we had planned to go to the Temple and meet with another Senior Couple for lunch.  I wasn't up for that so we cancelled lunch and Dan just went to the Temple for an earlier session.  After Dan got home he said he wasn't feeling to well either.  But we needed a few things at the store so I actually DROVE TO THE STORE BY MYSELF!  I know that doesn't sound like much but it was the first time in 2 months I've driven the car.  

                                                 



Saturday we had been invited to join a few senior couples for dinner in St. Louis for dinner.  But again we weren't  feeling well enough to go  :(  In fact Dan got really sick Saturday.  We were suppose to speak in church on Sunday.  Both our talks were ready to go but I was coughing so bad and Dan could hardly talk.  We had to cancel. 




Boy, the first weekend we actually had plans to be with some other senior missionaries, and we had to cancel everything. 

Well, here's to a better week to come!!

Our sweet Sisters

 The week of June 16 - June 22 Transfer week.  We picked up these sweet sisters at the Hotel to take them to the airport to go home.  We were taking 4 of the sisters early and then come back for 3 others later.  They were having breakfast when we got there we let them finish and then I said, "Okay, it's time to go."  They hugged each other over and over again.  Then they did one big group hug and when I walked over to them, they were praying together right there in the hotel breakfast room.  It was the sweetest thing.  A few tears and we were off to the airport. The Dodges came, a senior couple working at the Family History Library and Sister Cannon came, a single senior sister working in the office.   Friday we went back to Hillsboro to finish us the  apartment.  I was not looking forward to cleaning it.  It has felt so dirty and gross when we were there last week, I didn't want to do it.  Right before we left I rem...

The Mission Call

We got notification of our mission call as I was getting on a plane to Utah to visit two of my High School girl friends.  I was so excited!! But ... I really wanted to be with Dan when we opened our letter, so we decided to wait till I got home in 3 days to open it.  It was all planned and the kids were ready to Zoom and watch us open it when my flight got delayed for three hours.  That put me home around 11:00pm.  So we went with play B and set it up for the next morning.  All the kids were on line as we opened our up mission call. WE ARE HEADED TO  THE MISSOURI, ST. LOUIS MISSION!! Stay tuned for great adventures to come!

A Hymn Testimony and an answer to Prayer

Week of May 19 - 25 Zone Conference Week. I was called on to share my Hymn testimony at Zone Conference.  A Hymn testimony is a your testimony using only lines from the Hymn's.  It was actually harder to do than I thought it would be.  But here's mine.
