We love our young missionaries!

It's been an other slow week.  We both have been struggling to feel better.

Monday we didn't do  much but rest hoping we would be up to our normal missionary lives.

Tuesday, we went out and visited Dean Rigsby at the Carpet Store.  He was so happy to see us and talked to us about Conference. (even though he said he didn't watch it) We encouraged him to try and come to church on Sunday. He thought he would try and catch a bus to church.  But, sadly we didn't see him at church.

Wednesday was District Council.  One of our favorite days.  We love these missionaries!

Sister Booth and Sister Clark

Wednesday afternoon we passed out a few Relief Society Activity invites.  We stopped by the Ruffins house.  She was sleeping and so we talked with her husband.  He was so kind and said he would have his wife call when she woke ups.  We didn't really expect to hear from her because we get people saying that to us all the time.  But she actually called back that night.  She shared with us her difficulties in coming to church because of her health.  She was very sweet and anxious for us to come back and visit.  We stopped by the Clark's house.  I ran up to the door to just leave a flyer about the activity on Saturday and Sister Clark came to the door.  The two of us must have stood there for 45 minutes and talked while Dan was sitting in the car.  It was such a great visit.  We talked about our kids and her pets and then we talked about coming back to church.  She would really like to but her husband isn't ready to.  They got their feelings hurt by a member and he is just not ready to come back.  I encouraged her to come and sit with us and she said maybe.  But she didn't show either.  That night we got to sit in on a lesson with Bernard.  He really wanted to come to church on Sunday, so the  missionaries found someone that was willing to drive out and get him.  We were so happy!!  He really enjoyed church.

Lunch at Hi Point---Looks like Bob's Big Boy

Thursday we 3 really good visits!  First we visited with Siter Traynor.  We were hoping after the surgery she had that she would be able to come back to church.  But she explained to us because of the bag she wears, she isn't comfortable going out much.  After sharing all the details, we really agreed with her.  But she would love for more people to visit her and also someone to study scriptures with.  Our next visit was with Andrew.  We love Andrew and visit him each week.  He has bee so excepting and learning about he  church.  But we both felt like we needed to help him remember the Word of Wisdom.  We gave a short lesson on it.  He didn't remember ever learning about it.  But said he would pray about it and we would talk later about how he felt.   Robert Taylor called and said he would really like us to come by and visit, so we did.  He always has great stories to tell us and we really enjoy visiting with him.  After our visit with him we delivered a few more invites to Saturday's activity.

Friday we did a little grocery shopping, clean the apartment and got the car washed.  That evening we drove over to St. Louis to have dinner with 3 other Senior Missionary couples.  We had Taco Soup and Chocolate cake for dessert.  After dinner we played UNO.  It was a fun a fun evening.

Saturday I was looking forward to going to the Relief Society activity because one of our less active sisters, Debbie Craig, had agreed to come and teach a class. When we pulled up the parking lot was almost full.  I couldn't believe it.  I was so excited.  But when I went in to the building there were 5 other activities going on and I couldn't find our Ward.  Finally I found them in the small room.  There were maybe 5 people there, and Siter Craig had called and said she had to work.  I was so sad.  I stayed for about an hour and met a few sisters I didn't know.  Actually it turned out about 20 sisters came.  A great turn out!!

Late Saturday night bout 11:00 Andrew texted me and said he was not coming to church.  He wanted to talk t his Pastor and he would call us later.  We were very surprised and disappointed.

Sunday was WONDERFUL!!  It was the Primary Children's Program.  We must have 10 kids in our primary.  I was not really expecting  much but boy was I wrong.  They sang so loud and clear you would have thought the chapel seats were totally filled.  They had a lot of solo's and most of them were boys!  I couldn't get over how great it was.  Bernard was there and he really enjoyed church.  After Sacrament Meeting a young girl came running up to me and said, "You're the older missionaries, right?"  I said yes and then she reminded me who she was and tht her mom was there and wanted to talk to us.  It was Terra Johnson.  I think we have been over to her house about 6 or 7 times and never catch her.  One time we went we met this daughter, so thankful she remembered us, other wise I probably would have missed meeting her.  She actually comes from an active family but has so many health problems that she has been in and out of the hospital a lot.  It was so good to meet her.  I took Bernard  into the Gospel Essentials class.  Sister Waidmann taught.  She does good job.  He asked a few questions and shared some thoughts.  Anthony Collins and his son were in there too.  We haven't really been part of Anthony's conversion.  Dan has talked with him in  Priesthood and shared things with him.  After church was Anthony's baptism!  Bernard stayed for the baptism.  It was such a great baptism.  Several people from the Ward stayed and came to it.  The room was full.  His son had come to church with him and then his wife came to the baptism.  She is so nice.  I talked with her a little and she said she was hoping to start coming with him to church.  She had seen a real difference in him since he has started taking the discussions.  Dan gave the baptism talk and Sister Patterson gave the talk on the Holy Ghost.  Sister Patterson is quickly becoming one of our favorite people in the Ward.  She is so missionary minded and loves to help everyone.  I led the music.  Not one of my strong points.  If Emily would have been there, we would have had a good laugh!!

Brother Woolf and Anthony

That evening we had MCM.  I think it was the best one we have had since we have been here.  Dan has helped Brother Bledsoe understand his responsibility  in conducting and making this meeting work.

The week started out slow but ended GREAT!!  So thankful for the Lord's hand in our lives and helping us every step of the way.
