Snow and Ice

 Week of January 27 - February 2

Monday after staff meeting, we made plans to go to Sikeston and Poplar Bluff.  Sikeston Elders needed 2 bed frames, 1 mattress, a dryer and a bike rug.  We called them and set up a time to meet us at their apartment and help set things up.  Then we called the Poplar Bluff Elders, they needed a new dryer also, kitchen table and 2 chairs.  So, we set a time to meet them also.  We hooked the trailer up to the truck and headed over to the Storage Unit to gather all the things. There is still snow and ice, so Dan had to scrape it up, so we didn't slip putting things into the trailer.

Tuesday, we set out early to get everything done.  The Sikeston Elders were so happy and cute about getting all the stuff for their apartment. They had old mattresses and frames that we were just going to throw away.  They have a balcony on the second floor outside of the bedroom.  So we just throw the things that we were going to throw away off the balcony.  Fun!!  The stopped next at the Elders in Poplar Bluff.  I love the Elders.  We still had some time so on the way home we decided to stop and look at an empty apartment we have in Farmington.  It looked pretty good and will go back another day to clean it up.

Wednesday was spent in the office boing through emails and preparing for our trip to Springfield on Thursday.  We need to clean out Candlelight #12 because we are closing it permanently.

Thursday, we stopped by the White City apartment to just see what it looked like.  I thought it was disgusting. Dirty, loud music from neighbors and not very much furniture.  After looking at the apartment we went over to Candlelight #12 to clean it out.  We were hoping to do it all in one day, but I got so tired and felt sick.  So we got most of it cleaned, just had the kitchen to finish and loading up all the furniture to take out. We thought we would take it right over to White City apartment, that way we wouldn't have to make another trip there.  (It's a 2-hour trip both ways)

Friday, we were so tired we only worked half a day and then came home and rested. That night we had dinner at the Jones with the Peterman's and Bryan's.  We are really enjoying getting to know the other Senior Couples.

Saturday we still needed to rest.  It seems we are always so tired by the end of the week, we don't want to do much on the weekend.

After church on Sunday we went over and visited with Andrew and found out about his hospital stay.  He seems to be doing a little better.  I guess he had high blood pressure, which he hasn't ever had before and it made him dizzy and almost fainted.  After our visit with Andrew, we went over to Rocky's house.  Rocky and his wife are so sweet.  It is fun to visit with them.
