Another Zone Conference Week!

 February 24-March 2

The weather is so nice!  Everyone says it's just fooling us, that it will get cold again.  But for now, I'm loving it. I wake up and hear the birds singing!

Monday was staff meeting.  Always a few things to talk about after transfers, but I think it all went pretty good.

It's ZONE CONFERENCE WEEK!  There are 10 Zones in our mission.  So President groups 3 zones together Tuesday and Wednesday and the Thursday there are 4 zones together.  President has asked all of the Senior Missionaries to attend the Zone Conference that they are part of.  We are part of the O'Fallon Zone, so Tuesday was our Zone Conference.  We always get there about an hour ahead of time so we can deliver supplies to missionaries that have called and asked for different things.  Frying pans is a big one (I don't know why so many apartments don't have frying pans) measure cups, blenders and dishes.  As they get to the conference, Elder Smith is always having them do things with their cars, check the oil and tire pressure.  They get their mail then too. So we bring housing supplies for them.  It's an easy way to get it to them, without driving all over the place.  We got to stay for the whole conference.  I love it.  One of the classes that they had this time was about the new incentive the church is doing on  Easter this year.  It is called, He Is Risen.  They are making short 2 minute videos for the missionaries to share on the door steps.  They are having special Firesides and different flyers to pass out.  It is going to be like the Lite the World at Christmas time.

Wednesday, we didn't have any supplies that needed to be given out for those Zones, so we went over to Fairview Heights, Longacre Apartments.  We have an apartment that President wants closed there and our lease is up on Saturday, so we needed to get busy.  We went through and gathered all the stuff for Goodwill and threw alot away.  We got everything but the kitchen ready.  I was too tired to finish, so we quit a little early.  We both had hair appointments right there at the Salon next to the apartments.  I haven't had my air cut or colored since Thanksgiving.  It was driving me crazy.  After our hair cuts we headed home.  We both were so tired and still had to finish up tomorrow.

So, Thursday we started out at the last Zone Conference and handed out our stuff and then drove back to  Longacres.  We had 2 sets of missionaries coming at noon to help carry furniture to the trailer.  I apartment was on the third floor and Dan had already walked up and down about 15 times yesterday, so he really needed the help.  The missionaries were so great.  They went up and down so many times and never complained.  We had 2 sofa chairs that we were going to throw away, so Dan told them they could throw them off the balcony.  They were so excited.  The only rule was they had to not hit any plants, cars or people.  They had so much fun!!  A diffinet highlight of the move for them!

We had planned to go to the Farmington Apartment on Friday and clean it up but President called us Thursday night and said he needed a bunkbed put into one of the Sisters apartments. So change of plans.  Dan needed to go over to the Storage Unit and get the bunkbed and then put it together at their apartment Friday.  He called Elder Smith and asked if he had time to help.  Elder Smith is so good about helping us when ever he can.  What a blessing because it turned out to be harder than they thought it would be.  They got it done!! I stayed in the office and did a few things I needed to get caught up on and then left around 3:00.  It's been a busy 2 weeks and I was just too tired and Dan was so tired and sore by the time he got home Friday night, we went to bed early!

Saturday, we didn't do much but a little shopping and laundry.  The busy long days get to us by the end of the week, so it sounds good to stay home and do nothing.  So we rested for most of the day.

Sunday after church we called about 5 or 6 people to ask if we could come by and visit, but no one answered their phones, so we just went home and had a quiet afternoon.  Next week is going to be another busy one.
