Week of April 28 - May 4

Nothing very special happened on Monday.  Just our regular staff meeting and getting caught up in the office.

Tuesday, Dan had a PT appointment at 8:00 am.  So after his appointment we went back to Effingham.  We needed to clean and close those two apartments.  We started at the Seniors apartment.  It was already pretty clean but we needed to finish up packing a few things in the kitchen.  We vacuumed and spruced it up a little.  The Elders came by around 12:30 and helped put the bed and dressers into the trailer.  We then went over to the Elders old apartment and cleaned.  The sweet Elders had been over and cleaned up a lot of the junk already and threw it away, so all we needed to do was clean.  It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.  We have been trying to get a hold of the owner, but we're have a terrible time of it.  I've called, no answer and I can't leave a message.  I emailed, but it came right back to me.  So I mailed him a letter, but haven't heard back.  I figure once he doesn't get paid, he'll contact us.

When we were cleaning out the Storage Unit we found about 20 boxes of old finance and housing folders.  We called Salt Lake and asked them what to do with them.  They told us we just needed to keep 3 years and shred the rest.  So we went over on Wednesday and went through all the boxes and got them ready to shred.

Thursday morning about 8:00 we got a call from some Sisters about an hour away that had gone out to exercise and locked themselves out of their apartment.  We tried to call the Landlord to see if they would let them in, but no answer.  We called a lock smith but it was going to take a while before they could get there and it was going to cost $200.00.  We then called their housing inspector but again no answer.  So we got in the car, ran over to the office to get an key and drove over to their apartment.  In the mean time some Elders called and told us their AC had a block of ice where the filter goes.  Crazy.  We called the Landlord about that and we were off.  We got in the car and decided that because we were half way to Hillsboro (where some missionaries need a new apartment) that we should go back to Hillsboro.  We are desperately looking for an apartment there, but NO ONE will let us rent there with a Corporate Lease.

Friday, after working in the office all morning we decided to go over to the Pagedale Apartment.  It is so cute!  It was an old school house and they turned it into apartments.  Elders had been moved out of there on an emergency transfer and we needed to take a look at it.  It wasn't too bad but we need to go back and really clean it before transfers.  The garbage needed to be taken out so we started to grab it on our way out and it was so gross, I almost lost it.  I can't even explain how gross it was. On our way home we stopped and did a little shopping and then had an early dinner.

The old school, turned into apartments.

Lockers in the hall ways.

Their apartment was so cute.

I have been so tired this week and not really feeling very good and every night before bed I have said, I'm just going to stay home tomorrow and rest.  But duty calls and everyday I've needed to get up and go.  On Saturday I could hardly do anything.  So we stayed home.  It's been a hard week and my cough has gotten worse and I don't sleep at night, so I drag all day.

I did make it to church on Sunday, but came home and took a nap and rested the rest of the day.
