Happy Father's Day
The week of June 9 - June 15
This was a week of preparing for Senior Missionaries coming. Preparing 2 apartments, cleaning a little, moving furniture around and getting carpets cleaned.
Saturday we went to DeSoto and moved the Elders into their new apartment from Hillsboro. They had asked a few people from their Ward to come and help. That was wonderful. The more help, the faster it goes. We met the owners of the new house first. The Elders came dressed in their suits to meet them and talk with her, get the keys and look through the house themselves. After meeting with her, we went over to the Hillsboro apartment and started moving stuff. The Elders had changed into their work clothes to do the moving. It didn't look like the Elders had really even done any prep work, but they assured us they had. It was just really bad. There were 2 families that came to help, with several kids helping. I would get them started in a room and move to the next room, trying to get everything out and into the new house. They followed us over to the new house and helped empty the trailer and truck and then they left. We left the missionaries with a pretty bit mess, but I felt like they should put things away where they wanted them. We left and went back to the apartment thinking we would clean. But I was so tired I couldn't do anything more. We put things in different piles and decided we would come back another day and clean and finish up. As we were there, the Elders came back and asked if we had seen Elder Rawson's shoes. What!? No. We looked everywhere. No shoes to be found. We think they got thrown away. Elder Rawson refused to climb into the dumpster to look for them. I was willing to do it, but ne said absolutely NO. As we talked a little more they asked us if we knew where the silverware was. Well, we think that got thrown away too. We were feeling so bad we went and bought them some silverware and a few other things we noticed that they needed. We went back to the new house and left them on the table. Elder Rawson did have another pair of shoes to wear, they were just the ones he usually wore on Sunday's.
Sunday was Father's Day! Dan talked with most of the kids and we had a nice dinner. Love this good man and companion I have. He really is such a blessing to me.

How blessed you and I have been to have such good men by our sides. The time has flown by! Next year we will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary!
