Miracles and Blessing

Week of May 5 - May 11

Highlights this week:

Sisters in Jacksonville (2 1/2 hours away) needed a dresser.  So we drove up and gave them a dresser, they were so excited.  Then we drove over to see the Elders in Pittsfield.  Their apartment was terrible.  When we got there I asked them how their apartment was and they said, "Fine,"  Then I started looking around and asking them questions, they finally started showing me all the things wrong. It was a list: AC leaks and the wall is wet and squishy, a nail is sticking up in the kitchen floor, they keep getting holes in their socks, toilet doesn't work well, the sink in the bathroom leaks and no water pressure, they have carpet in the bedroom but it  must be it is so thin you can feel the boards underneath it and their are wholes in the floor.  There are no cupboards in the kitchen to put away food so it's all over a desk they have in the kitchen.  They have a table to eat at but it also has stuff on it.  I asked where they eat and they said one of them eats at the table and the other around the corner at the desk.  I was so upset, WE HAVE TO GET THEM A NEW APARTMENT!  After we drove over to the Ballif's house, a Senior Couple going home soon.  As we drove over we were talking about moving the Elders into their house.  It is a cute little house.  But in talking to the Ballif's we found out all the problems they have there.  Not a good place to put them.

We have been looking and praying hard about finding an apartment for the Elders in Hillsboro.  We haven't had any success.  Then earlier this week we got a phone call out of the blue from someone that said they own a couple of houses they rent.  Would we be interested?  YES!     We went over and looked at them and told them we wanted one of them.  Blessing and Miracles!

Saturday we finally were up to doing some sightseeing.  So we drove over to the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. There was a Mass going on so we had to be very quiet.  We weren't really even suppose to be in there but we snuck in and took a few pictures.

Confession

Afterwards we went over to the Kingside Diner for an early dinner.  It's right next door to the World Chess Hall of Fame.  We popped into it while we were waiting for our table.

Sunday was Mother's Day.  The men in the Ward did a breakfast for all the women in the Ward during Relief Society.  It was so nice of them.  Then both Emily and Shelly sent me a little gift.  And of course the boys called me.  I love being a MOM.  It's the best.
