The Sky is Falling
The week of June 23 - June 29
We had our last Staff Meeting with the McKay's. It was a little emotional as we all said our Good-byes. Tuesday the Beecher's arrived and came into the office to meet everyone. They already knew the Witham's and Sister Cannon, they are both from their Stake at home.
It was a quick hand off as the next day the McKay's left and it was Zone Conference Week. Talk about hitting the road running. Early that morning we got a call from the Elders in Bella Villa. There ceiling fell in, What?! One Elder was in the shower and the other was getting dressed. They heard a load noise and walked into the Living Room and the ceiling was on the floor. We made sure they weren't hurt and that they were okay. We told them to get ready for the day and get to Zone Conference, we'd take care of it. So President Beecher's first official call was, "The Elder's ceiling fell in."
Zone Conference was amazing. One of the things that impressed me was at the closing session he called on a missionary and asked them to open up the Book of Mormon to any page. Just random, pick a page in the Book of Mormon. And then gave a short message from that page. We got to be in that part of the conference all three days and each day was totally different. On the day we stayed the whole time, we noticed how well the message he gave from a random scripture, fit into the rest of the things that had been taught that day. The Lord is in the very details of the Mission.
Saturday we took a tour of the Fabulous Fox Theater. And that is really what they call it. It is gorgeous! Built in 1927. When it opened it showed Silent Movies with a real organ playing the music in the back ground. The guy came and played the organ for us. He was so entertaining and the organ was amazing.
We had to leave the tour a few minutes early because we had a baptism to get to with our Ward. So we rushed off and got there just in time before the baptism started.
After the baptism we were sitting in the car deciding what we needed to do next and Madelyn drove up. She had been on her way home and the spirit told her to go back and take the Beesley's out to lunch. She was so cute telling us how strongly the Spirit had told her to take us out to lunch. We had a great time with her. We love her.
